My BFF

I entered this layout in a contest on the Page Maps blog. I didn't win so I can show it to you now. This is my best friend Mary who lives in Asheville, NC. On a recent  trip with her and a few other friends, Mary bought this T-shirt. This was a great shirt for her. We are always teasing her about her delayed reactions to jokes or her not realizing when we are telling the truth about something or not. She is so trusting, I really shouldn't treat her so mean. She is good natured about all the ribbing she gets. Despite what the T-shirt says, Mary is a very savy business woman. She is a highly successful independant consultant with the "Partylite" Co.  There is a link to her web-site on the right side of my blog under places I visit often. Go check it out.

I used a varity of papers on this layout such as Cosmo Cricket and Grafic 45.  I cut the hearts, heart swirl and title with my Silouette. As you can see in the close up photo, I used a varity of beads to enhance a boarder strip. On the photo itself I added a digital frame and overlay from House of 3.

Mary I hope you don't kill me for this! Remember I love ya!

So sad

The Scrap Shack in Augusta, GA is closing it's doors. I have had a great time being on the design team for the store. We all hate to see it go. It may not have been the biggest scrapbook store, but it sure ranked high on my list as one of the cutest. I have heard a rumor that another scrapbook store may be opening in Augusta. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know! The above is a layout I did to celebrate the Scrap Shacks' first anniversery. At the time I didn't realize it would be the last.

I remember...

This is a layout I did over the holidays. My sister Pat gave me these pictures from one of our childhood Christmas morning. This was 1962 and I got my first bike that year. My three sisters and I had a great time looking at these pictures and trying to figure out who got what. I treasure pictures like these and realize this is why I scrapbook. My mother saved alot of photos but she did not write down the stories behind them. Both my parents have passed away. I don't have them to answer my questions. I want my daughter to know the stories behind the pictures after I am gone.

Happy New Year everyone! Just wanted to welcome 2010 with my favorite layout from 2009. It showcases my daughter and her boyfriend. I liked the vintage effect of the modern photograph.
